Biography
Principal David Randall is guided by his deep understanding of and commitment to the nonprofit community and his years of experience as a recruiter and former advancement professional.
David understands the nonprofit sector from both sides of the hiring line, having held leadership positions in higher education, health care, and environmental fundraising, and as a nonprofit board member and volunteer. Before becoming a recruiter, David worked at some of the country's leading institutions, including Stanford Hospital & Clinics; the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF); Lehigh University; the University of Washington; and Princeton University.
While working in academic and healthcare advancement, David hired a variety of recruiters and served on numerous search committees. Colleagues and search consultants often commented on his ability to identify and assemble strong and productive teams.
Encouraged to go into the recruiting business, David joined a leading nonprofit executive search firm in 2011. His desire to bring niche expertise and a highly personalized experience to his clients became the inspiration and catalyst for the creation of Randall Search in 2013.
David moved to San Francisco in 2000 and is deeply rooted in his community. His involvement in the Bay Area includes volunteering at the San Francisco SPCA, San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Openhouse, Friends of the Urban Forest, and Friends of McLaren Park. He lives his passion for animal welfare through the lives of his three rescue dogs. Through several Bay Area mentorship programs, he has had the privilege of serving as a coach to mentees seeking to enter the nonprofit sector.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, magna cum laude, and completed graduate study in International Relations at the University of Pennsylvania.
